COACHES, 2025 - 2026
Sharisse Huie, 13u
Coach Sharisse has been coaching volleyball for over four years, but her love for the game began at age 10. As a former high school varsity setter and a current year-round player, she brings both experience and passion to the court. Having trained with the Co-Active Training Institute in personal coaching and leadership modalities, as well as neuroscience-based methods to help athletes find focus and flow, her goal is to guide players in building strong fundamentals, total body strength, and confidence, while also growing as leaders on and off the court.
Her coaching philosophy is rooted in a growth mindset, teamwork, and resilience, with plenty of fun along the way.
Off the court, Sharisse enjoys time with her family, exploring new ways to learn, and getting creative. She brings the same passion for connection, growth, and community into her coaching.
Richard Ying, 15u
Hi, I’m Rich. I’ve been playing competitive volleyball for 35+ years. I started as a setter and played club for Warren in New Jersey. I’ve since played just about every position in every format of volleyball (beach, grass, coed, reverse coed, Chinese 9-man). Love it all. And now I’m enjoying helping the next generation learn this great team sport.
Caroline Escalante, 16u
I started playing volleyball at Berkeley High School as a setter. I just finished my second season with ABV as the parent volunteer assistant coach and was recently hired as the head coach at El Cerrito HS. I am looking forward to bringing the players and parents together to share the love of volleyball that I have.
